Description:
Cerith Snails are small, less than an inch long, with a very pointed
shell. Shell coloration is variable and often coralline algae
covered. The body of the snail can be black in color.

Care:
Reef Suitability: Cerith snails are good herbivores to include in the reef tank. They remain
very small and will not disturb any of the landscaping. They are sometimes
included as a hitchhiker on live rock. The are not effective against the hair
algae monster, but may help with diatoms and cyanobacteria and add to the
diversity of the cleanup crew when used with other types of snails.
Disposition: Mild mannered as a snail can
get.
Feeding: Cerith snails are herbivores and spend the day foraging for algae.
Hardiness: Very hardy and long lived.
Temperature: Does well within normal reef tank temperature ranges of
75-84°F.
