The tank has been up and running for two weeks now.  Things continue to go mostly according to plan.  Below are some pictures of the tank at this stage.

The tank has been going through the usual new tank algae blooms.  The sand and rock has a dusting of brown algae and the glass gets a coating of green algae everyday.  This is normal and will die down on its own.  All water parameters including nitrates and phosphates are at zero.  When I moved the contents of the 70 gallon into this tank, there were about 20 blue-legged hermits and 20 snails, mostly Astrea with some Ceriths.  I have added another 50 Astrea snails to help ensure the algae does not get out of hand.

BrownAlgae.jpg (52823 bytes) This picture shows a close-up of the brown algae on the live rock.  It is also visible on the sand in the above pictures as a light brown dusting.
Sargassum.jpg (45966 bytes) There is also a brisk growth of Sargasso macro algae starting to sprout.  I will keep this pruned back and it should die out after a short time.
