Removing heat shiels |
Heat shields are off exposing the stock headers |
Under the car, remove the front O2 sensor from each exhaust
pipe |
While down there, also remove the V-band clamp from each
exhaust pipe |
Removing the plug shields. They just press in place,
so I used small vise grips to wiggle them loose. |
Removing the header bolts. After removing the bolts,
the headers just pull up and out of the engine bay. |
To complete the exhaust removal, the then cut out the flex
section of pipe. |
Here is the new header ready to install |
Here is a comparison of the Belanger vs. the stock header |
Here shows the gaskets held in place with a couple of bolts
and 1/2 of the header is installed loosely in place |
Here is the 2nd part of the header being installed.
The headers install from the top of the vehicle. |
Once the header pipes are in place, the 2 to 1 collector is
RTV'd and bolted up to the header pipes |
This shows the headers in place. The O2 sensors get
reinstalled into one of the header tubes. |
Here is everything in place minus the turn-out pipe being
put in place |
Here the turn-out pipe is in place. I had to cut the
pipe back further then I had originally. I then drove it down to
have the pipe welded |
This shows the header install complete. |
Here I have added spark plug boots since I decided I wasn't
going to reinstall the stock spark plug shields |
